  • Stylish Canapés with Smoked Sea Trout

    These are really easy to make!

Perfect for pre-dinner nibbles or a starter to a special meal for two.

You can use either our BigFish Smoked Loch Trout or Traditional Smoked Salmon for this, both are Great Taste award winners so just choose whichever takes your fancy! 


  • 1-2

    slices of BigFish™ Smoked Loch Trout or Smoked Salmon

  • 1 tsp

    prepared horseradish sauce

  • 2 tbsp

    cream cheese

  • 1 tbsp

    lemon juice (about a quarter of a lemon)

  • Seasoning

    Salt and fresh black pepper

  • Savoury crackers

    Or mini oatcakes (your choice!)

  • Garnish

    Cucumber and chives


  • 1.

    Place the cream cheese, horseradish and lemon juice into a bowl with a pinch of salt and some freshly-ground black pepper. Mix well and taste for seasoning.

  • 2.

    Now simply spread a generous spoonful of the cream cheese and horseradish mixture onto the crackers and garnish with a fine slice of cucumber and a strand of chive.

    Serve immediately with slices of lemon on the side.
